I decided to rewatch Atonement last night since I just finished the book a few days ago. I thought it was interesting how they really didn't create any new scenes that weren't in the book (except for the ending), and how they used the exact structure of the book, keeping the timeline the same, the flashbacks, etc.

Just under two weeks left here in the States before I head back to my second home. It's been fun and relaxing so far, and I still have a ton of awesome stuff left to do. And by ton I mean a few things.

Going to NYC for a few days to wander aimlessly and see old friends before I leave the country. It'll be my last trip to New York for a long while. Seems like it's ages since I've done a normal post. That's all thanks to work, of course, which has pretty much monopolized my life, especially the last three weeks. My mom and I went to an indoor flea market today which meant I had to wake up at 6:30am which meant I didn't get to catch up on any sleep lost during the work week. Upside is the place was super busy and we managed to sell $131.50 worth of crap, the best we've done in the 2 years since we started doing this. Got an extra hour of sleep this morning, which was nice, as I didn't have to be into work until 10am. The fax machine is still broken mainly because (I believe) the doc is too stubborn/cheap to have professionals come out and fix it. So since I only work until about noon on Wednesdays and my mom was laid off (aside: Don't worry! This is a great thing. Screenplay #5 is at about 25 pages right now and I wrote another scene today, but I spent most of the time reorganizing the first act and making notations on scenes I need to write. I knew the act one felt too short and needed a little beefing up, and I got to the point today in act two where I couldn't continue unless I made the necessary changes ( Read more... )
